Wesley Sneijder confirmed he was in no hurry to sign for Galatasaray [12] and the stalling might pay off with reports of Liverpool making an offer.
The Dutchman was in the stands to watch Inter’s 2-0 win over Pescara last night and spoke to Sky Sport Italia.
“I’m fine. It is a big decision I have to take, so I don’t think it will be made by Monday,” said Sneijder.
“There are still two weeks to go before the end of the transfer window, so there is time. I am relaxed and I’m considering my options.”
It is widely reported in Italy that he is stalling in the hope a Premier League club will match Galatasaray’s €10m transfer fee.
The tactic could well pay off with today’s stories in the Sunday People that Liverpool have offered £8.2m.
Wages could still be a stumbling block, as Sneijder is leaving Inter because he refused to take a pay-cut on his €6m per season contract.
The 28-year-old is also thought to be of interest to Tottenham, Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City.
