Davide Santon is one of the 20 players named in the Italian Under-21 squad for next week's friendly against England.
Despite struggling for form, Santon has been included by boss Ciro Ferrara just days after his loan move from Inter to Cesena.
Manchester United owned striker Federico Macheda, on loan at Sampdoria, is also in the party for Tuesday's game.
Ferrara, whose side beat Turkey 2-1 on his Azzurrini debut three months ago, has called up one new face in the shape of Empoli striker Riccardo Saponara.
