Italian giants Milan will not make any signings this month unless the club opt to sell one of their players first.
“If nobody leaves then nobody will arrive,” Vice-President Adriano Galliani noted on Monday when again asked about a possible bid for Manchester City’s Mario Balotelli.
“We already have five forwards for two or three roles, therefore we are OK as we are.
“I’ve always said that if only one forward left this month, as is the case with Alexandre Pato, then we would remain as we were.”
Milan made some big changes in the summer after waving goodbye to a host of big-name high earners. They are now going down a different route after years of heavy spending.
“We have decided to target emerging youngsters,” the official continued. “We’ve explained that to the fans and I think they understand.
“We’re investing in young players this January too and we are convinced that we’ll achieve great results.”
