Roma boss Zdenek Zeman has revealed that Marquinho has been omitted from the Coppa Italia squad for disciplinary reasons.
The 26-year-old midfielder has been left out for the trip to Fiorentina on Wednesday, and the Czech Coach has admitted that he has 'done something wrong'.
“Marquinho has not been called up for the Coppa Italia,” he told Roma Channel. “He did something that he should not have done.
“But I have confidence in the rest of my players.”
He then commented on Wednesday's opponents and the work done by Vicenzo Montella at Stadio Artemio Franchi as well as remarking on the importance of the cup.
“They are a team that play good football. They have lost their last few matches, but that's only because they failed to exploit their chances.
“In other countries this type of competition is very important,” he added. “But in Italy it only seems important in the latter stages.
“But for me this competition has always been important.”
