Genoa have confirmed that they are in negotiations with Juventus about a proposed January swoop for Reto Ziegler.
The 26-year-old is currently on loan with Lokomotiv Moscow, but he could be soon heading back to Serie A.
“It’s true, Ziegler’s name is very hot,” sporting director Rino Foschi told Telenord. “We are talking with Juventus about him, but it won’t be easy.
“At the moment there is no competition for him and he would complete our wide options were he to arrive.”
The left-back joined Juventus in 2011 from Sampdoria on a free transfer, but he was immediately sent out on loan to Fenerbahce after failing to impress new boss Antonio Conte.
Genoa Coach Luigi Del Neri was his former tactician at city rivals Doria.
Foschi was also inevitably asked about Juventus’ interest in striker Ciro Immobile. “Enough of this, I can’t take any more,” he responded. “I say, for the tenth time, that he is not available for transfer.”
