Milan's Mark Van Bommel returns from his ban and insists, “I have learned my lesson and am quickly learning about Italian football.”
The former Bayern Munich midfielder was sent off on his Serie A debut for two bookable offences and makes his comeback against Genoa this afternoon.
“I must admit it is not easy to adapt to Italian football, as it's completely different from German,” confessed Van Bommel on Milan Channel.
“The first foul against Catania was a yellow card, but I don't think the second was. In any case, I have learned my lesson and will not make the same mistake twice.
“I want to learn Italian as quickly as possible so I can help communicate with my teammates.
“I hope to win everything with this team, even if it makes me sad that I cannot play in the Champions League.”
Van Bommel, Antonio Cassano and Urby Emanuelson are Cup-tied, having already played in that competition with Bayern Munich, Sampdoria and Ajax respectively this season.
