Adrian Mutu made his comeback after a blazing row with Fiorentina directors. “I am very grateful to the fans.”
The Romanian had been frozen out of the squad and legal action taken to terminate his contract after storming out of training last month.
He fired his agent and pleaded for another opportunity, which came on his return to the field as a substitute in today's 1-1 draw with Parma.
“I am fairly good and settled into the game straight away. It was a difficult match, but we have time to improve,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“I am grateful to the fans, as they are just wonderful. I hugged Alberto Gilardino, because I wanted to take him over to salute the supporters.
“My rapport with Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is strong.”
