There are reports that Genoa have agreed a deal for Bologna defender Daniele Portanova, just days after fans protested the move.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the agreement has been reached to bring Portanova to Genoa on a contract until June 2016.
He is included as part of the transfer for Bologna to sign the other half of striker Alberto Gilardino, who is currently on a co-ownership deal.
The decision will not go down well with Bologna supporters, who had staged angry protests at the club’s training ground earlier this week.
It has been a chaotic year for Portanova, who sat out a four-month ban in the betting scandal for failing to report a potential fix to the authorities. These are charges he always denied.
The 34-year-old returned to football on December 16 and scored Bologna’s winner against Napoli on his first game back.
