PSG Coach Carlo Ancelotti believes Juventus have done good business by bringing in Nicolas Anelka on a five-month contract. “He’ll do well in Turin.”
The 33-year-old striker flew in on a private jet last night to complete his medical and sign a five-month contract worth a reported €600,000 plus performance-related bonuses. [12]
“Anelka is a great player,” said Ancelotti. “He trained with us for a week and can play in any club in the world, so I’m sure he’ll do well in Turin.
“He is coming off a vacation and, just like everyone who has not played for a while, he will need the right training schedule.”
Anelka’s last game for Shanghai Shenhua was over a month ago, as the Chinese League has finished.
Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta confirmed Anelka was there “to fill a hole during an emergency situation” following Nicklas Bendtner’s injury.
