Udinese striker Luis Muriel is cooling expectations that he is on the way to becoming one of the world’s best.
The Colombian is being paired with Brazilian great Ronaldo, but the 21-year-old is aware that the road ahead is a long one.
“I’m happy with the comparisons, but I have to keep my feet on the ground,” stated the striker. “I owe Udinese everything.”
Muriel was last night crowned as the best young player in Serie A, along with Milan sensation Stephan El Shaarawy, at the Gran Gala del Calcio .
Udinese teammate Antonio Di Natale, speaking at the ceremony, said: “Muriel will be a top player within two years.”
Muriel, who has now recovered from a hip injury, has scored four goals in eight Serie A games so far this season.
