Roma have officially backed Zdenek Zeman after crisis talks. “We are totally satisfied. We will fight our battles together.”
The Coach was hanging by a thread after the 3-3 draw with Bologna, as director Walter Sabatini had declared the club was “considering a change” of management.
Zeman had two lengthy meetings with the hierarchy today at the training ground and director of sport Sabatini spoke to Roma Channel this evening.
“We all had deep talks with Zeman and are totally satisfied,” said Sabatini.
“We will fight our battles together.”
The meetings involved Zeman, director general Franco Baldini, director of sport Sabatini, directors Claudio Fenucci and Italo Zanzi.
It is believed they asked the Coach to be less harsh in his rapport with certain players, for example Daniele De Rossi and Maarten Stekelenburg.
There had been rumours of several options to replace Zeman, including Laurent Blanc, Alberto Malesani, Giuseppe Giannini and current member of staff Antonio Carlos Zago.
