Genoa have officially signed Mattia Cassani from Fiorentina on loan with option to buy at the end of the season.
The defender had been linked to numerous clubs  during the January transfer window, including Palermo, Inter and Sampdoria.
“Genoa Cfc announce that a deal has been concluded with Acf Fiorentina for the temporary acquisition, with option to make the move permanent, of defender Mattia Cassani,” read a statement.
The 29-year-old has appeared in only eight Serie A games this season, including four starts, after failing to break into Vincenzo Montella’s team.
