“First of all, I want to compliment Massimiliano Allegri for forging a team that is very different to last year, packed with youngsters and still battling for the top spots,” said Guidolin in his Press conference.
“He also launched talents like Mattia De Sciglio, Mbaye Niang and Stephan El Shaarawy into the first team. He has done really very well.
“Balotelli has the potential to become a top player. It is important for Italian football that we recovered a talent like him. Obviously he will generate a lot of enthusiasm, but we mustn’t forget players like Giampaolo Pazzini who can also make their mark.”
There are reports Milan will use a trident attack, so Udinese could change their traditional 3-5-1-1 system.
“Will we adopt a four-man defence? It is something we have tested before, so it would not be a novelty. We are ready to change and adapt to any situation, so we’ll see what happens. I also have Mehdi Benatia available again after the African Cup of Nations.
“It’s true that Milan are a very strong side, but we will try to learn from our mistakes and be 100 per cent concentrated to stay in the game. It’s the only way we can trouble them.”
There has been a change of referee for tomorrow night’s match, as Davide Massa has pulled out to make way for Paolo Valeri.
