Sampdoria veteran Angelo Palombo was rushed to hospital overnight after suffering from painful kidney stones.
The former captain, who spent most of his career as a midfielder and is now finding a second youth as centre-back, played in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Torino. 
The official Sampdoria website confirmed he was taken to hospital overnight and kept in a clinic for treatment.
He is suffering from kidney stones and is expected to be released later this evening.
