Milan’s Mario Balotelli was not the only January signing who earned his new club three points with an injury time goal at the weekend – Marco Rigoni did the same for Genoa.
The midfielder, who joined Chievo from Novara in the summer, completed a move to Marassi last week and netted in the 3-2 win over Lazio on Sunday.
“I couldn’t ask for more from my debut,” the Italian told Pianeta Genoa 1893. “I was just hoping for a win because that was crucial. But I managed to score too.”
Yesterday’s victory was only the Rossoblu’s fifth of the season in the League, but it was enough for them to jump out of the relegation zone.
