Juventus striker Alessandro Matri is stunned by the transfer rumours surrounding his future. “It’s absurd.”
The forward is being linked with a possible exit at the end of the season given that he is not guaranteed regular first team football in Turin.
“I still have four years left on my contract [until June 2017] and I have always felt the backing of the club,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“The transfers rumours about me are absurd. I find the competition for places here very stimulating.”
Matri, 28-years-old, has scored five goals in 12 League games so far this season.
“I’m hoping to find some space with the national side again as I want to be at the World Cup in Brazil,” he added.
“It’s also my dream to score a decisive goal in the Champions League seeing as I have yet to net in that competition.”
Juventus have already announced that Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente will join the club in the summer on a Bosman free transfer.
