Walter Novellino says he would have no problem in returning to Sampdoria, but feels the club will keep faith in Domenico Di Carlo.
The Blucerchiati have lost four on the bounce in Serie A, sliding to 13th in the table amid great unrest in the stands.
Interviewed by Tutto Mercato Web, Novellino said: "Knowing Sampdoria President Riccardo Garrone, I believe that it would be difficult for him to change Coach.
"He is a President who doesn't like to change Coaches. I agree with his decision.
"We need to give confidence to Di Carlo. I have a great respect for him.
"I don't deny that Sampdoria are a great club. I would like to return a lot, but I also have a lot of respect for the people who work there now."
