Parma attacker Nicola Sansone has admitted that he dreams of playing for the Italian national team.
The 21-year-old was born and raised in Germany, and even played for Bayern Munich's youth team.
But the diminutive forward has insisted that he feels Italian and wants to play for Cesare Prandelli's side.
“My Dad always told me how beautiful Italy was,” he told Corriere dello Sport. “And it's true. The people are warm – you have the sea, the food is better and the football is fantastic.
“I've always said I'm glad for what Germany gave me, but it is my dream to play for the Italian national team.”
