Just hours after Max Allegri announced that he would be making his comeback for Milan this weekend, Andrea Pirlo has suffered an injury setback.
The 31-year-old has been out of action for three weeks during which time Milan's gap at the top of the table has closed to just three points.
Pirlo trained this afternoon with a view to starting tomorrow's match against Parma.
However, it has since emerged that the Italy international has sprained his right knee.
Pirlo will undergo a series of tests tomorrow to ascertain whether he will be fit to play Tottenham in the Champions League.
