English media report that Arsenal are ready to anticipate Liverpool and others by making a formal £15m offer for Torino defender Angelo Ogbonna.
The 24-year-old grew up in the Toro youth academy and has attracted the interest of numerous top European clubs.
These are thought to include Juventus, Milan, Fiorentina, Napoli, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
In England alone, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been linked with Ogbonna.
According to TalkSport, Arsenal hope to anticipate the bidding war by making a formal £15m offer to Torino.
The Granata have set a price-tag of around €20m on the centre-back, so this is closer to the target than anyone has been so far.
Ogbonna has only just returned to the side after several months out following a hernia operation.
