Genoa have confirmed Thomas Manfredini will be out for several weeks after tearing his left thigh muscle.
The defender limped off during the 0-0 draw with Palermo on Saturday evening.
Tests have shown a first degree lesion to the femoral bicep muscle in his left thigh with irritation of the sciatic nerve.
It is believed Manfredini will be out of action for at least two weeks, possibly more.
He arrived at Genoa in the January transfer window from Atalanta.
