Alessandro Del Piero has congratulated former international teammate Francesco Totti after the Roman netted his 225th goal in Serie A.
Totti is now joint-second in the all time scoring charts after drawing level with Gunnar Nordahl following his strike in the 3-1 win over Genoa last night.
“225 goals, another great target reached by a great champion – well done Francesco! Ciao Ale,” the Juventus legend, now playing for Sydney FC, noted on Twitter.
Silvio Piola is Serie A’s most prolific scorer after a career in which ne netted 274 goals.
Del Piero scored 188 goals in 478 top-flight matches for Juve.
