Bortolo Mutti makes his debut on the Bari bench this afternoon and concedes “the lads were a little depressed.”
Coach Giampiero Ventura resigned on Thursday after days of protests from angry supporters, as they are rooted to the foot of the table with just 14 points.
“I found a group of lads who were a little depressed, but that was normal in the circumstances,” commented Mutti.
“As the days went on, I saw them relax a little more. We've shaken some of the weight off our shoulders, but our performance on the pitch will tell us how much.
“The players are very open to listening to my ideas and a few variations that won't transform their work. We cannot look at the table, instead taking it one game at a time to overcome all the obstacles in our path.”
Vitalii Kutuzov and Jaime Romero have pulled out of today's game with Genoa due to injury.
