Philippe Mexes will reportedly start for Milan in this evening’s Champions League game against Barcelona.
The Frenchman was a doubt after picking up an injury in Friday’s win at Genoa, but reports suggest he’s passed a fitness test.
The former Roma man will be fielded in the middle of a back-four alongside Cristian Zapata. Ignazio Abate will start on the right, while Kevin Constant should see off Mattia De Sciglio for the left-back role.
Massimo Ambrosini and Mathieu Flamini will add bite to the midfield, with Riccardo Montolivo asked to provide the flair.
Kevin Prince Boateng, M’Baye Niang and Stephan El Shaarawy will form the Diavolo’s trident attack as Mario Balotelli is Cup-tied and Giampaolo Pazzini is injured.
Milan won the first leg of their last 16 tie 2-0 at San Siro.
