Nicola Legrottaglie is ready to accept a cut in wages at Catania – in return for the chance to become the future boss of their youth team.
The former Chievo, Juventus and Milan man is only contracted to the Sicilian club until the end of this season.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the defender is prepared to accept a 50 per cent reduction to his €400,000 salary for a new one-year deal.
However, the 36-year-old would then want to become the Coach of the club’s Primavera outfit from the summer of 2014.
Legrottaglie, two goals in 22 League games this term, has also been linked with a possible move to Australia.
