La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Inter are in advanced talks with Barcelona for Alexis Sanchez and have a deal for Sampdoria’s Mauro Icardi.
This season’s injury problems have pushed President Massimo Moratti to seek a younger side next year, particularly in attack.
This morning’s Gazzetta suggests talks are at an advanced stage to take Sanchez back to Serie A now that he has slipped out of the Barcelona starting XI.
The Chilean is no stranger to Italy, as he shot to fame at Udinese, earning a transfer worth €26m plus a further €11m in performance-related bonuses.
Before choosing Barça, Sanchez had been very close to both Inter and Juventus, so both clubs are now eager to take advantage of his issues at Camp Nou.
Inter are also prepared to include 21-year-old right-back Martin Montoya and 25-year-old former Arsenal midfielder Alex Song as part of the deal.
Italian newspapers are also confident that the Nerazzurri have agreed a deal with Sampdoria for young Argentine hitman Icardi.
There are even reports that Inter have already taken out an insurance policy on Icardi in case he picks up an injury before the summer transfer.
