While it’s reported Napoli are targeting Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp for next season, the club threatened to sue over stories about Edinson Cavani’s love life.
Walter Mazzarri has still not confirmed or denied whether he will remain on the San Paolo bench next term, saying he will wait until the end of the season to make a decision.
In the meantime, it is reported that the club is looking around for valid alternatives, which so far have included Stefano Pioli, Luciano Spalletti, Gianfranco Zola and Carlo Ancelotti.
According to the latest reports, President Aurelio De Laurentiis has been inspired by Borussia Dortmund manager Klopp, who has had great success in the Bundesliga and Champions League.
Meanwhile, this evening Napoli released an official statement threatening to sue SportMediaset over “gravely defamatory” claims.
The story suggested the club and specifically someone close to President De Laurentiis had spread the rumours of Cavani having an affair with a local student to “put him in a bad light with the fans and lay the groundwork for an inevitable departure.”
