The plane carrying the Italy squad to Geneva for tomorrow’s friendly against Brazil was hit by lightning.
Reports state the plane was in the process of landing at Geneva Airport when a bolt of lightning struck.
Fortunately there were no injuries nor serious damage to the plane, which was able to land safely, but the passengers were clearly shaken by the incident.
"The situation was always under control," assured captain Roberto Andolfato after completing the journey from Florence.
Italy take on Brazil in Geneva on Thursday evening at 19.30 GMT.
