Napoli goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis has announced his international retirement on his 36th birthday. “This is my last time with the Nazionale.”
The shot-stopper is in Malta with his Italy teammates for tonight’s World Cup qualifier  and is on the bench.
“I’m sorry, but this is my last time with the Nazionale,” he told the squad and Coach Cesare Prandelli this morning.
He chose his 36th birthday to make the decision after six caps.
De Sanctis most recently played for Italy in the 3-1 win over Denmark on October 16 2012.
