Davide Astori had one of the transfer sagas of the summer and looks set for another, as Southampton and Napoli lead the race for the Cagliari defender.
The Italian international had been at the centre of a €10m bidding war that flared up again in January, but he opted to remain in Sardinia.
According to today’s reports, Southampton are reviving their interest and remain in pole position to sign Astori.
Napoli are also in the running with the likes of Spartak Moscow and Milan.
It is believed Cagliari will only agree to release him for €12m cash.
