Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has confirmed talks with Fiorentina and tracked by Newcastle, but his agent warns “Saint-Etienne want at least €12m.”
The 23-year-old striker grew up in the Milan youth academy, but after loan spells at Dijon, Lille and Monaco, he was sold to Saint-Etienne in 2011.
The Gabon international has since become a star of Ligue 1 and attracted interest from all over Europe, including Fiorentina and Newcastle United.
“An offer has already been turned down, as Saint-Etienne want at least €12m to release him,” agent Pierre Francois Aubameyang told L’Equipe.
His contract currently runs until June 2016 and the representative – who is also the player’s father – confirmed talks with Fiorentina.
“We have held talks with Fiorentina and I can confirm that things are progressing like expected,” he said.
“They have arranged for a meeting, a very important one in Italy and I’ll be travelling down to attend.
“Fiorentina are very interested in my son. It is concrete, I have verified it but I will not be taking Emerick along because of his engagements.”
