Cagliari have written to the local council in Quartu Sant'Elena to inform them that they will leave the Is Arenas.
The Serie A side have been hampered by stadium issues since moving to the venue at the start of the season.
Some matches have been played behind closed doors and their home tie against Juventus was even moved to Parma over safety concerns.
The club have now sent a letter to officials in Quartu Sant’Elena telling them that they wish to cancel their three-year agreement to use the venue.
The outfit are now considering the best way to dismantle the stands and move the stadium to another municipality for next season.
It is unclear where the club will play their remaining home games of the present campaign. Trieste is an option, although the Stadio Nereo Rocco needs work before it could stage a top-flight match.
