Inter hitman Rodrigo Palacio admits bagging a brace against Sampdoria at Marassi felt a bit like a Genoa derby.
The Argentine scored both goals in today’s 2-0 victory , a rescheduled Serie A Week 29 game.
“It was important to get back to winning ways. We played well and the result was the most important thing,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“This victory helps us and now we have more confidence going forward, focusing already on Sunday’s difficult game against Atalanta.”
Palacio went up to 12 Serie A goals for the season, five in the last five games, and has become crucial since Diego Milito’s injury.
“Am I Inter’s saviour? No, we all play well and today the defence was important in getting the result too,” he assured.
“Was it a bit of a derby for me? I am happy with the goals and everyone knows my history with Genoa.”
