Bologna director general Roberto Zanzi is delighted to have convinced boss Stefano Pioli to sign a new contract at the club.
The 47-year-old was starting to be linked with a host of bigger Serie A sides until he committed his future to the Rossoblu until June 2015.
“It was only normal that the bigger teams were keeping him under observation,” Zanzi commented. “But we confirmed him because we believe in him.”
Pioli, formerly of Chievo Verona and briefly Palermo, moved to the Stadio Dall’Ara in October 2011 after Pierpaolo Bisoli was sacked.
Bologna, who entertain Torino this weekend, are currently 12th in the table thanks to 36 points from their 30 games so far.
