Eugenio Corini has warned Chievo “are not safe yet” as he is forced to completely reshuffle his side against Udinese.
The Flying Donkeys are sixth from bottom in the Serie A standings, nine points clear of the relegation zone.
“Palermo’s victory over Roma and the draw between Siena and Genoa shows what kind of campaign we’re dealing with here,” pointed out the Coach.
“It’s very difficult and every team will fight to the bitter end. We have a good advantage in the table, but are fully aware we are not safe yet.”
Corini has to make numerous changes for Sunday’s trip to Udine, as Marco Andreolli, Dario Dainelli, Isaac Cofie and Boukary Drame are all suspended.
“Having four players banned is not an easy situation to deal with, but we can count on a strong squad and there are valid alternatives.
“I have great respect for Udinese, a side who in recent years achieved extraordinary results, but I continue to say every game is an opportunity to pick up points.
“We are fortunate enough to be in a position where we’re not chasing anyone, but at the same time know it is necessary to bring home the missing points to reach the finish line. Udine is therefore another important step in our journey.”
