Paolo Cannavaro would like to become a talisman at Napoli after signing a new contract until 2015.
The 29-year-old centre-back has been at the club since 2006 and wears the captain's armband.
Speaking to Radio Marte, he said: "I would like to once again thank all the fans who have always given me their affection. I want to be a talisman at Napoli.
"Yesterday I signed a new contract even if the agreement was reached a long time ago. It was what everyone wanted, both me and the club.
"Allow me to thank everyone who has supported me. I have felt a lot of affection on the behalf of the Napoli fans. We hope to win a lot in the next few years.
"I feel Neapolitan. I feel the responsibility of this shirt and I hope to win here in order to become a real talisman."
