Legendary No 10 Gianfranco Zola has urged Sampdoria enigma Antonio Cassano to not waste his footballing potential.
The Italian international has a bad boy image after a controversial career in which his fiery temperament has caused conflict.
Cassano is now at a crossroads given that Sampdoria have started proceedings to get his contract terminated after a bust-up with owner Riccardo Garrone.
"My advice to Cassano is the same as always," said the former Chelsea star. "If he manages his personality in the right way then, with his ability, he can become the best out there.
"It all depends on Cassano now," Zola added. "Antonio, more than anybody, has the good fortune that he can decide his own destiny."
The former Bari, Roma and Real Madrid man is now set to move on in January with numerous clubs associated.
Inter, Juventus, Palermo and Milan have all been linked, even if Zola believes Cassano could be a star in the Premier League.
"With the qualities that he has, he can play anywhere in the world," concluded the Sardinian legend.
