There are reports Lazio Coach Vladimir Petkovic could be given a contract extension with new Sir Alex Ferguson style powers.
The tactician has been a sensation since arriving as a relative unknown last summer, taking the Biancocelesti to the Coppa Italia Final, Europa League quarter-final and currently fifth in Serie A.
His current contract is due to expire in June 2014, but President Claudio Lotito is already working on an extension with wage increase on his €600,000 deal.
The more important aspect of the contract would be to give Petkovic a more directorial role in the style of long-term Premier League managers like Ferguson and Arsene Wenger.
This is unheard-of in Serie A, where Coaches have very little input on the transfer strategy.
