“This is a fundamentally important game,” said Coach Sannino, who returned to revive their fortunes after he was fired in Week 3.
“I will always be grateful to the Palermo fans, as this has been a strange year and something important could happen.
“I want to see the right look in the eyes of every player, every Coach and every fan. I have never seen 30,000 people attend one of my matches, but the players deserve credit for lighting that spark.
“Bologna are a strong side, but the only thing we can do is put all our quality and determination on to the field to overturn the odds. Stefano Pioli is proving himself to be a great Coach.
“We are well aware that we must continue the battle, all together. President Maurizio Zamparini took the pressure off us. He just wanted to see the players up close, then he left.”
Andrea Dossena and Andrea Mantovani are still out of action, but Abel Hernandez is back in the squad six months after undergoing knee surgery. Fabrizio Miccoli also shook off a knock.
