Amid reports of Manchester City offering £15m plus John Guidetti for Hernanes, the Lazio star’s agent admits “they are a top club at world level and he loves the Premier League.”
The Brazilian midfielder’s current contract expires in June 2015 and so far there have been no meetings planned to discuss an extension.
LaLazioSiamoNoi.it interviewed agent Joseph Lee and asked him about the rumours around Manchester City.
“These are rumours and for now I do not wish to comment on them. City are a top club at world level and Hernanes loves the Premier League. But I have too much respect for Lazio to say any more.”
It is reported that City would offer £15.3m cash plus Guidetti, the striker who scored 20 goals in 23 games for Feyenoord last season.
However, Lazio would prefer a pure cash sum of around £25m instead.
“We discussed many things with President Claudio Lotito in September, including his contract, but the situation has remained unchanged since then. There are no other meetings planned,” added Lee.
“What would happen if an offer came in from Manchester City? I repeat, for now we are talking about rumours, but if it did arrive then Lotito would be forced to call us...”
