Bologna will be without Niccolò Cherubin for the rest of the season after tests confirmed a fractured foot.
The defender limped off during the 1-1 draw with Sampdoria on Sunday afternoon and there were immediately fears of serious damage.
Today X-Rays confirmed he has suffered a fracture of the navicular bone in his left foot.
Medical staff warned Cherubin will be out of action for at least three months and is set to undergo surgery later this week.
Meanwhile, Bologna welcome back Diego Perez this weekend after a month out with a sprained right knee.
