Angelo Palombo has underlined his desire to end his playing days in the Sampdoria shirt. “I didn’t even want to join Inter.”
The 31-year-old is back in the Doria set-up after he was initially frozen out of the squad this term, following a loan spell at San Siro, until Delio Rossi replaced Ciro Ferrara in the hotseat.
Contracted to the Marassi outfit until June 2015, the Italian international has committed his future to the side.
“I’m someone that didn’t even want to be released to Inter so it is normal that I hope to end my career here,” he told Calcissimo in an interview.
“It was a nice experience, yet everyone knows that I didn’t really want to go – but what has occurred has occurred.
“I want to again reach the highest levels while wearing the Sampdoria jersey.”
The midfielder joined Doria in 2002. He stayed loyal to the club following their relegation in 2011, but was then loaned to Inter in January 2012 for six months.
Palombo has also won 22 international caps with the Italian national side.
