Fiorentina legend Gabriel Batistuta flew in and said the current Viola side “are having a wonderful season.”
The Argentine hitman was a hero for this club from 1991 to 2000 and is still very fond of Tuscany, arriving today with wife Irina.
“We’re just here on vacation until Sunday and flew in without even warning our friends, so it was an impromptu trip,” he told journalists.
“Am I here to fire up Fiorentina? No, they don’t need me to do that, as they are having a wonderful season.
“I saw the Viola are currently fourth in the table and we’ll see what happens.”
Fiorentina are now just one point shy of Milan in third place, which provides access to the Champions League preliminary round.
