Roma's new caretaker boss Vincenzo Montella has told his former teammates that he is the one who now makes the decisions at the Stadio Olimpico.
The 36-year-old replaced Claudio Ranieri on Monday afternoon following the Tinkerman's shock resignation at the weekend.
Montella spent a decade with Roma as a player and knows a lot of the current playing staff.
There have already been suggestions that he won't be able to lay down his authority in the dressing room.
Speaking at his official unveiling, Montella explained what he had told the players.
"In life I decided to be a Coach and I believe in my abilities like I believe in yours.
"You are a strong group and I am proud to be your Coach.
"I am convinced that this season will not be wasted. Great results can still come.
"The club has not placed vetoes of any nature on me. I have played with some of you and I am a friend to many of you, but I will not be influenced by our relationships.
"I will decide everything in my head, hoping to do well and to exploit your qualities as best as possible."
