Juventus's legendary former striker David Trezeguet claims he turned down a move to Napoli last summer.
The veteran Frenchman left Italy after a decade in Turin to play for newly promoted Spanish side Hercules.
Speaking to Il Sussidario, Trezeguet said: "I had this opportunity.
"I was interested to get to know an important place with a clear and serious project.
"I said no to Napoli out of respect for the Juventus fans with whom I have a special relationship.
"I have not been able to say goodbye to them well. I will do it one day in the future.
"I will also say hi to my former teammates and Andrea Agnelli with whom I also have a great relationship."
