Roma confirmed that goalkeeper Bogdan Lobont fractured his nose during last night’s 1-0 win over Fiorentina.
The shot-stopper was only playing because Maarten Stekelenburg is injured and received the knock in a mid-air collision with Gonzalo Rodriguez.
Despite fracturing his nose, Lobont continued playing for another 15 minutes at the Stadio Franchi, as medical staff regularly stemmed the bleeding.
When the Romanian went into the locker room for half-time, the fracture was ascertained and Mauro Goicoechea sent out in his place.
It remains to be seen how long Lobont will be out for, as he will visit a specialist today.
