Aurelio Andreazzoli admits Roma “did not pursue the ideas throughout the game” after their 1-0 defeat to Chievo .
The Giallorossi created very few scoring opportunities and were eventually beaten by Cyril Thereau on the counter-attack in the final minute.
“We had an idea on how to approach the match, but did not pursue the ideas throughout the game,” said the interim Coach.
“In the first half we were stuttering in our build-up and should’ve tried to finish the game much earlier. In the final minute, we had this goal against the run of play.
“We didn’t suffer much at the back, but we knew that Chievo were dangerous on the counter.”
Andreazzoli explained his decision to use a 3-4-1-2 system with Mattia Destro partnering Pablo Daniel Osvaldo.
“It was a new situation and we wanted to test it out. We thought it would help open up more spaces, but we weren’t smart enough to take advantage of that situation. In any case, we did create chances and could’ve made more of them.”
