Bologna boss Alberto Malesani was not expecting Roma to be so defensive at the Stadio Dall'Ara.
“We put in a good performance again today, but Roma did well to close all the spaces and we were inefficient in the final third,” he said of the 1-0 defeat to Vincenzo Montella's side.
“I expected the Giallorossi to be more attacking, considering the difference in quality between the squads. Instead they clammed up in their own half and played on the counter.
“I must compliment their psychological approach, as they looked very fired up and concentrated. If we were unable to make our chances count, it is also down to their efforts.”
That rescheduled Week 22 game was only Bologna's second home defeat of the season and they welcome Juventus on Sunday.
“It will be difficult and I hope to get as many injured players back as possible. I was pleased with Federico Casarini, who in only his second outing as a full-back had a great game, keeping Mirko Vucinic and Jeremy Menez quiet.”
