Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Real Madrid have contacted them about Coach Carlo Ancelotti.
The Italian tactician has been heavily linked with succeeding Jose Mourinho at Santiago Bernabeu, but the French club's President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has insisted that the former Juventus man has a year left on his contract and will see it out.
“The general manager of Real Madrid [Jose Angel Sanchez] contacted me a few days ago,” he told L'Equipe.
“But I made it clear that Carlo still had a year left to go on his deal, and we want that to be respected.
“Of course, we are not the size of Real Madrid, but that does not mean we do not deserve respect.
“Everyone here loves Ancelotti, and I am very optimistic that he will stay.
“If he went, it would be a problem for us.”
