Andrea Stramaccioni is glad Inter’s disastrous season is over. “Massimo Moratti has clear ideas on how to rebuild.”
The Nerazzurri were beaten 5-2 at home by Udinese , finishing in ninth place, which is the worst position in the Moratti era.
“It’s difficult to judge tonight’s game, as we were missing so many players in defence and Udinese pounced on two mistakes in the opening 10 minutes,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“That put the match on the right track for them, as Udinese are the most dangerous team in Serie A when given space to run into.
“We can only turn over a new leaf and look back at our season, which was certainly negative. Do we feel liberated that the campaign has finally come to an end? No, but the last two months were certainly very difficult. Everything went wrong.”
Stramaccioni was asked about his future amid reports that Walter Mazzarri is ready to replace him at San Siro.
“Inter are Massimo Moratti. He wasn’t feeling well tonight, but came to the stadium anyway and showed his love for the team.
“The most important thing is not to get it wrong when constructing the side for the future. Now the club must rebuild a competitive Inter.
“The President has very clear ideas on how to rebuild, working on the errors made this season. I feel it’s only right that he tells you what those ideas are for the Coach, directors and team.”
